Making of a Warlock
A Warlock's Beginning
Book One of the Warlock Series
Published by: Hildebrand Books, an imprint of W. Brand Publishing
A broken heart. A hidden legacy. A destiny awakened by magic.
After a devastating breakup, Victor Russo agrees to a birthday escape to New Orleans, hoping distance will dull the ache. Instead, a chance encounter with an unsettling tarot reader exposes truths Victor never expected—and power he never knew he possessed.
Though he tries to dismiss the reading, the magic refuses to let go.
Drawn back to the city, Victor learns his late grandmother was one of the most powerful witches of her time—and that her legacy lives on in him. As Victor is pulled into a secret world of warlocks, witches, ancient curses, and forbidden magic, he must confront a past he never knew, and an enemy long thought defeated: Florence Maryweather, the dark force that cursed his family and still lurks in the shadows.
Haunted by grief, fear, and self-doubt, Victor faces an impossible choice: deny who he is—or embrace the magic within and risk everything.

I really enjoyed getting to read this book, it had that urban fantasy element that I was looking for and enjoyed from the description. The characters worked well in this universe and had that plot that I was looking for. Dominic Anaya has a strong writing style and was glad I was able to read this.

This book was fun to read and found it relatable (no I am not a Warlock) but a lot of the friendships reminded of some of my own. I really enjoyed Victor’s journey as he basically rediscovers who he is, and not just in a magical world. Appreciated the blend of magical realism and contemporary fantasy. Can’t wait to see what is next for Victor, his powers and all the amazing Characters that make up this great story.

From the first page, I was spellbound. The author pulls you in instantly and it was hard to put down. Each chapter I read made me want to rush to find out what happened next. This book was so well-written. I can't wait to read the second series.

First starters got my fiscal copy and signed by the author who's a great friend from school. I can truly say this was one of the best reads about how the character find out his family line. How it leads to his training and the control of his magic. Read through the first 8 chapters in one sitting and could not put the book down till I finished it in a little over a week. This is one book I could read over and over without hesitation!!

Book Two of the Warlock Series
Published by: Hildebrand Books, an imprint of W. Brand Publishing
Three months after completing his Basic Specialties training and earning the title of Empath Warlock, Victor Russo is ready for the next stage of his magical journey. But becoming a warlock was only the beginning.
The powerful Council of Superiors has little patience for a warlock who refuses to play by their rules. Victor won’t pledge himself to a coven or accept the mentors they’ve chosen for him, and the Council is determined to make him pay for his defiance.
Now, caught between a mysterious rogue coven hunting him and a governing Council intent on controlling him, Victor’s magical education becomes a fight for survival. His search for answers takes him from the dangerous streets of Montreal to an elite magical academy in London, where every portal he crosses may be watched, every alliance comes with a price, and no one’s motives are quite what they seem.
Then Victor receives the journals of his late grandmother.
Hidden within their pages are long-buried family secrets that challenge everything he thought he knew about his magical heritage and may reveal why powerful forces in the supernatural world are so interested in him.
As Victor uncovers the truth about his bloodline, he’ll have to decide whom he can trust, how far he’s willing to push his growing empathic powers, and whether the greatest threat comes from the rogue coven hunting him…or the magical establishment determined to control what he becomes.
